Back on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , a 24-inch natural gas pipeline !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and exploded in Center Twp, just to the north of Pittsburgh, PA. The explosion, likely caused by a landslide due to the unusually wet year we’ve had so far, caused no injuries, but it demolished a house, and knocked down a half-dozen high tension towers. Today an Eric kson SkyCrane was flown in to lift replacement towers onto the footings. Despite a relatively calm day, the first attempt (that I was able to watch, at any rate) didn’t go well, and the copter aborted the attempt after several minutes.
